The project included various interventions to define a strategy for the development of the district entering the next phase of the Revitalization Program for the Nowa Praga area as part of its contribution to the GPR of the City of Warsaw until 2030.

The focus was on unconcrete the district, greening backyards and introducing blue-green infrastructure. In addition, we identified measures to improve the quality of public spaces, living comfort and safety of residents, and selected sites for new buildings that would complement the “hole” frontage development in places.

This unusual area, saturated with very interesting relics of 19th-century tenements and old factories hidden in courtyards, has a chance to become a gem of Warsaw as one of the last authentic corners of the preserved urban fabric. It hides a huge potential of its own identity and unique atmosphere.

Our activities are aimed at preserving these values but also making a big, noticeable change for the residents. Reducing car traffic, narrowing streets, reclaiming sidewalks and squares for pedestrian and bicycle traffic, radically increasing the amount of greenery – this will be a major change for the better.
